ECPC has a active Caring Officer who takes an interest in the wellbeing of all members.
The role of the welfare office is to keep a watch on the welfare of the members of the Club. How he or she carries out this assignment is very much a personal choice. It can range from keeping an ear open and picking up whether anyone has fallen ill, had an accident of some sort, or otherwise run into difficulty.
The welfare officer might make hospital visits, or telephone calls to check up on how members who are known not to be at their best are getting on. Or it could be as simple as ringing a member up on a birthday to pass on best wishes.
